Rinjani Trekking 3 Days 2 Night Via Senaru without Summit | Start in Senaru village >] Senaru crater rim > Crater lake & hot springs > Sembalun crater rim > End in Sembalun village We recommend you this tour package if you want to hike to the crater lake Segara Anak and to take a bath at Mt. Rinjani’s hot springs. Optionally you can spend the 2nd night down at the lake or back at the Senaru crater rim campsite. This tour is suitable for experienced and average hikers but not for children or beginners unless they have a very good fitness. The ascent from the crater lake back to Senaru crater rim is steep and challenging.
On the first day after an early breakfast at your accommodation and the registration at the National Geopark office with your guide the trek starts through green rain forest before it finally opens to savannah with nice views for the last 1,5 hours. On the way you will see animals like black ebony leaf monkeys and various bird species as well as a variety of tropical plants like rattan trees, orchids and pandanus trees. A few short breaks and a lunch break strengthen you for the next stage through the jungle. Depending on your fitness you will reach the Senaru crater rim after around 7 hours where you can enjoy sunset and freshly cooked dinner at your campsite.
After spending the night there you will get up early to catch the sunrise and have breakfast before going down the steep, rocky path to lake Segara Anak for about 2,5 hours. Your guide will assist you attentively on the way. Once you arrived you can spend your time relaxing at the lakeside with a view on the new volcano Mt. Baru Jari and bathing in the hot springs. It’s up to you if you want to spend the second night down there or if you want to climb up the Senaru crater again to sleep at the Senaru crater rim campsite. Just tell your guide and porters in advance.
Either on the same day or after staying overnight at the lakeside and an early breakfast you will ascent back to the Senaru crater rim campsite for about 3 hours. Be prepared for a quite challenging part of your trek. The descent to Senaru village will take around 6 hours including short breaks and a lunch break again. Once you arrive in Senaru village we are ready to bring you to your accommodation or to your next destination on Lombok.
