This hike is suit for beginners, children at least 7 years old, families, honeymoon couple, who want to see the beautiful scenery of mount Rinjani from second summit mount sangkareang 3100 masl without having difficult to climb to the top of Mt.Rinjani. 1 night camping on the edge of Rinjani crater rim 1(2641 masl) and 1 night at accomodation in senaru before hiking ( 2 nights in total )
Day 0 – Arrival & Briefing (Pre-Trek)
Upon arrival in Lombok (by ferry or flight), our driver will pick you up and transfer you to our office and accommodation in Senaru. You will spend the night here before your trek. In the evening, our team will provide a short briefing about the hike, safety procedures, and trip preparation.
Important Notice:
We strongly recommend arriving in Senaru at least one day before your trek to ensure you are well-rested and to avoid delays. Starting the trek immediately upon arrival is possible, but it carries risks of feeling rushed or forgetting important items.
Day 1 – Senaru Gate → Crater Rim Senaru
1. (Green Forest • Fresh Air • Aesthetic Adventure)
07:00 AM – Meet at Senaru Basecamp, then take a short 15-minute transfer to Senaru Gate (700m).
2. Begin trekking through lush tropical rainforest.
Post 1 (915m) – Arrive after 30 minutes. Take a short rest with water and biscuits.
3. Continue 1 hour to the Extra Post, then another 2 hours to Post 2 (1,500m).
Lunch Break (±1 hour) – Enjoy a freshly cooked meal prepared by your guide and porters.
4. After lunch, trek 2 hours to Post 3 (2,000m).
Continue a 2.5-hour uphill climb to reach the Senaru Crater Rim (2,641m).
5. Upon arrival, the forest opens into breathtaking panoramic views of Segara Anak Lake and Rinjani’s summit.
6. Settle into camp, relax, and enjoy sunset above the clouds while rinjanimission team prepares dinner.
7. Overnight camping at Senaru Crater Rim under a starry sky.
Day 2 – Crater Rim Senaru → Mount Sangkareang (Second Summit) → Senaru Village
1. (Sunrise • Summit View • Scenic Descent)
2. 05:00 AM – Early morning hike (±1 hour) to the Second Summit, Mount Sangkareang (3,172m) for sunrise. Enjoy stunning views of Mount Rinjani, Segara Anak Lake, and the surrounding landscapes.
3. 06:15 AM – Return to camp.
4. 07:00 AM – Breakfast at the campsite.
5. 07:30 AM – Begin the descent back through the rainforest.
6. 11:30 AM – Arrive at Post 1 (915m). Take a long rest and enjoy lunch (±1 hour).
7. 12:30 – 13:00 PM – Continue the final descent to the Senaru Gate / Rinjani National Park Office (601m) for check-out and exit.
8. 13:20 PM – Arrive at Senaru Village. Refresh with a shower, fresh drink, and fruit salad at our office/accommodation.
9. 14:00 PM – Transfer to your next destination in Lombok (Tetebatu, Kuta, Mataram, Senggigi, Airport, Lembar Harbor, or Bangsal Harbor for Gili Islands).
